Capability Quotient (CQ) - quantifying the qualitative

THE WHAT: You have heard of saber metrics. Here’s why my system is different. CQ is personality saber metrics. Saber metrics, and current analytics, leaves out a critical variable, the human executing the task. Profiling a player’s personality, their social and emotional influencers must be accurately included in the equation. CQ offers just that, using machine learning to collect and analyze athlete’s written and spoken words, without asking athletes to take an assessment.

THE HOW: There are assessments and self reporting questionnaires floating around. However, many suffer from lack of validity, organizational application, and research has repeatedly shown because they rely on self-reporting or observational reporting, results are unreliable. We accepted these forms of feedback because there was no other way to ascertain this information. Translating qualitative theory into quantitative data has thus far been elusive. Until now.

Humans are complex adaptive systems, so I’ve developed a complex adaptive approach to understanding players as people and part of dynamic environments. I offer organizations insights into motivational profiles, temperament, self-efficacy, reward-system preferences, cognition, and more to optimize performance in a specific environment.

THE RESULTS: reliable and valid data tied to strategic outcomes. Implementation streamlines scouting efforts, provides clear guidance for player development and mental skills, simplifies draft and trade decision-making.
